5‭ ‬Best Smartphone’s

In the days when a phone was just a phone and nothing more it was acceptable if your phone knew not what a calculator or even a WAP browser was.‭ ‬But in a day and age when the line between computers,‭ ‬cell phones and even regular household appliances is blurring at an extremely alarming rate,‭ ‬it’s acceptable to say that within the next few years,‭ ‬few phones will not fall in the category of‭ “‬regular.‭”

With that said it’s about time we talk about the top five Smartphone’s on the market.‭ ‬We took into consideration the phones multimedia capabilities as well as its productivity features and call quality.‭ ‬So don’t be surprised if some of the phones position on the list surprise you.‭ ‬We should point out that this list is intended for consumers and not necessarily business executives.

NUMBER ONE:‭ ‬RIM Blackberry Boldrim blackberry bold 202x300 5‭ ‬Best Smartphone’s

Although RIM is currently in the celebration processes of selling its‭ ‬50‭ ‬millionth device within its ten year existence,‭ ‬that is a pale in comparison to Symbian who boasts half a billion devices strong and Window’s Mobile who shipped‭ ‬20‭ ‬million devices just last year alone. But there is a reason why the Bold makes our list.‭

Whereas the former Blackberry’s were geared mainly towards business execs,‭ ‬this Blackberry carries some strong multimedia features and although not as good as those found on the iPhone,‭ ‬still packs quite a punch. But even though RIM has placed a strong emphasis on multimedia we should note that they have included the great productivity features and email support that Blackberry has been know for.

The Bold has one of the sharpest displays for a smartphone that I have seen and offers superb multimedia performance. This smartphone has HSDPA support and an updated OS. It include features like Wi-Fi; GPS, Bluetooth, and strong e-mail support with full QWERTY keyboard. For those of you seriously considering to purchase this smartphone, the RIM Blackberry Bold will not disappoint you at all.

NUMBER TWO:‭ ‬Nokia N97nokia n971 299x230 5‭ ‬Best Smartphone’s

It’s not like we would actually expect Nokia to disappear.‭ ‬Even though their market share has been dropping in recent years,‭ ‬they still control‭ ‬56%‭ ‬of the global Smartphone market share. Thanks to the N97‭ ‬they have given us more reason to believe that they will not be dropping off the map for any time soon. The N97‭ ‬carries some great performance specs and has a full array of productivity apps and a nice media player to be the proverbial icing on the cake.

Being one of the more expensive smartphones on the market and no doubt you would expect more bang for your buck. After testing this smartphone it’s my conclusion Nokia has meet those expectations. This smartphone is so powerful Nokia refers to it as a mobile computer.

This smartphone is based on the S60 platform and boasts a 3.5 inch touchscreen display with 640 by 360 pixel resolution. The fully functional integrated web browser can view all most any website that a desktop computer can and loads them quicker than any other smart phone I have seen. The Nokia N97 has a nice array of support such as TV Out, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, and a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. Coupled with 3G connectivity you will be drooling to get your hands on this device.

NUMBER THREE:‭ ‬Sony Ericsson Xperia‭ ‬1sony ericsson xperiae280ad e280ac11 300x225 5‭ ‬Best Smartphone’s

This is the sexiest Window’s Mobile device we have ever seen.‭ ‬Although it carries the Sony Ericsson badge this is the design work of the HTC team.‭ ‬From the aluminum frame to the awesome slide out keyboard we could not find a better performing device anywhere else. The UI overlay is also a mark improvement over the regular skins you see out there.‭ ‬But we couldn’t help but notice the phones price which is quite steep.

Coupled with integrated GPS, WiFi, 3G data connection, and a 3.2 megapixel camera, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is loaded with the latest smartphone features that you’d expect from a first class smartphone. You can bet with these features the Xperia 1 will pull data at the fastest speeds possible. The built in camera has an auto focus feature, tap your finger on the touchscreen and the camera focuses on your target of choice. The Xperia comes with 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM with an additional 128MB of dedicated graphics memory.

This smartphone features a 3-inch 65K-color WVGA touchscreen; Four-row full QWERTY slide out keyboard, Wi-Fi and built in GPS receiver with A-GPS, X-Panels interface, Optical track-pad, Standard miniUSB port, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2D, Opera 9.5 web browse, Superb audio quality, MS Office Mobile document editor. The Xperia X1 is Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support plus HSDPA 7.2Mbp. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is a great smartphone, the purchase of which you are unlikely to regret.

NUMBER FOUR:‭ ‬iPhone‭ ‬3Giphone1 5‭ ‬Best Smartphone’s

You were probably wondering where the iPhone would place.‭ ‬As we said before we measured the phones based on multimedia capabilities,‭ ‬call and‭ ‬3G quality as well as productivity. We have to say that the iPhone is the mart that every phone has to meet in terms of touch screen and multimedia features.‭ ‬But we are a little disappointed that such basic features like copy and paste,‭ ‬laptop connect and Flash are missing as well as a third party productivity suite. But despite those few problems this is a solid system.‭ ‬While we wouldn’t recommend it for the business professional,‭ ‬this is the best phone for a first time Smartphone owner. For a more detail run down of this cell phone look here.

NUMBER FIVE:‭ ‬HTC Touch Diamonde280achtc touch diamond 231x300 5‭ ‬Best Smartphone’s

HTC takes serious props for having the best looking devices on the market.‭ ‬Although we would wish that they had decided to do a better design with the T-Mobile G1,‭ ‬we still commend them for revitalizing our faith in the Window’s Mobile line. But even though there are a few details we wish they would fix in the phone‭ (‬that processor needs a rework‭) ‬it’s still solid nonetheless. Memory wise, the Touch Diamond has 256MB ROM and 192MB DDR SDRAM and 4GB of internal storage. The device has an outstanding 3D interface with a gorgeous one touch screen and sports the latest Windows Mobile 6.1. The 2.8-inch touchscreen monopolizes the front of the Touch Diamond and the 640-by-480 pixel display resolution is just outright beautiful. As you can see in the above image the phone comes with a heavily-animated weather forecast application.

Under the hood we see the Touch Diamond is equipped with a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor, 192 MB SDRAM, 256 MB ROM and 4 GB of internal storage. The device weighs ins at 3.9 inches by 2.0 inches by 0.42 inches (99mm x 51mm × 10.7mm) and comes with Microsoft Mobile Office and two browsers, Internet Explorer and Opera. The stylish phone is GPS and A-GPS ready and sports a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and VGA videoconferencing/recording capabilities. Wireless options are Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR including HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access).
