Apple’s iPhone OS 3.1.2 Software Update Released
Last month Apple made the iPhone OS 3.1 available, now version 3.1.2 for the iPhone/iPod touch can be downloaded via iTunes. The new version includes a fix which resolves issues with waking from sleep mode, intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular services until restart, and crashes while streaming video.
The biggest problem was the sleep and crash issue, iPhones would become unresponsive, touch controls wouldn’t work, and there would be the no ring tone when someone called you. All of which required a hard reboot to remiedy the problem, but that was only a temporary fix.
It’s still too early to tell whether 3.1.2 is a true fix or not. In addition to the iPhone OS update, there is also a carrier update, version 5.6, but no information on what it does has been released yet.
