Augmented Reality Glasses makes Master Mechanics and Engineers

BMW Augmented Reality Augmented Reality Glasses makes Master Mechanics and EngineersApparently from this video I found on the BMW and uTube’s websites a augmented reality maintenance tutorial for service technicians seen through a wireless connected pair of special goggles with voice narration is available. According to BMW,  research in the area of augmented reality is leading the way in a numbers of areas in the BMW service for it’s vehicles. BMW mechanics have all the information at their disposal, precisely where they need it: in the workshop and at the vehicle. Looks like GM has jumped on the ban wagon as well with an add campaign about the research it is doing in the area. No doubt mechanics and engineers of the very near future will be experts. The future is now folks. If your a mechanic or an engineer your going to love this video.

This is a perfect exemple of how to NOT use augmented reality… Do we want stupid or experimented techs? Seriously, we’re taking the car techs for idiots here.

‘experimented techs’? ‘car techs for idiots’?

Is the idiot you’re referring to yourself? I know you feel secure in your interweb anonymity, but coherent writing doesn’t need to be abandoned in the information age.

This is an excellent use of augmented reality. If you read the article (instead of just looking at the title and pictures) you’d notice that this is a TUTORIAL, it is for LEARNING. Sounds like a very efficient way to learn if you ask me. As an amateur in car repairs, I’d love to have my whole Chilton manual inside of one of those headsets. No more getting out from under the car to flip through pages.

If you comment on an article please take the time to read both the article and your post to ensure your intended point is clear and consistent with the article. You and many posters like you on the internet are an embarrassment to the english speaking world.
