The rugged compact camera was built to to withstand some tough conditions with its two-layer body (steel + polycarbonate) is protected from shocks, water, dust, cold temperatures,  high humidity, which is pretty cool for a small camera and ideal for the outdoors.

Casio says the G series camera can survive drops from 7 feet (2.13m) and, it can be submerged 3 meters underwater for one hour. This is one tough little camera. Casio also says the Exilim EX-G1 is the worlds thinnest shock-resistant camera at just 0.78-inches thick.

The Casio Exilim EX-G1 is quite impressive and features a 12.1 megapixel 1/2.3 inch CCD sensor, non-extending 3X optical zoom which offers a range equivalent to 38 to 114mm, a 2.5 inch rear LCD display that is protected by an acrylic plate (960 x 240), intelligent AF, a microSD / microSDHC expansion slot, and is capable of recording video at an 848 x 480 resolution. The camera takes 12 Megapixel photos and can record YouTube-friendly movies.
