dell latitude xt2 Dell Latitude XT2 Tablet PC Multi Touch CapableDell has announced the latest addition to their XT Tablet PC line up in a recent press release,  the Latitude XT2 Tablet PC with multi-touch screen technology. Dell has integrated multi-touch screen technology in the XT2 to allow users to utilize the full scope of display by touching the screen with gestures such as tap or pinch for scrolling, panning, zoom, rotate and so on as opposed to a touch pad or mouse. If you don’t like the multi-touch option there is a side switch to deactivate the multi-touch functionality. The screen not only can be used via hand jestures but a stylus pen works as well.

This high performance Tablet PC comes with a 1.2 GHz SU9300 or 1.4 GHz SU9400 Montevina Core 2 Duo ULV, Intel 4500MHD integrated graphics, 1GB DDR3 RAM up to 5 GB, built in keyboard of course, touch-pad, scroll wheel, your choice of an 80 GB or 120 GB hard drive, or 64 GB or 128 GB solid state drive and 12.1-inch WXGA display. The operating system is Windows Vista Business with Service pack 1 and comes with a new improved antennae design for better wireless connectivity. ROUND ROCK, Texas, Feb. 10, 2009 – Dell today announced the Latitude XT2 convertible tablet building on the industry’s first tablet PC with multi-touch screen capabilities designed to enhance security, increase performance and extend battery life. The system starts at $2,399 and is available today at www.dell.com/latitude.

Multi-touch capabilities on the Latitude XT2 allow users to use natural gestures like a pinch or tap for scrolling, panning, rotating and zooming that work with productivity applications they use every day. Dell’s integration of multi-touch screen technology allows customers to use the full real estate of the display, as opposed to just the touchpad.
