Easy Peasy formerly known as Ubuntu Eee Optimized for Netbooks

Easy PeasyNetbooks have become a popular choice these days, mostly because there cheap, small, and lightweight thus making them easy to drag alone with you. But there are some problems that come with this portability, smaller screens, weaker processors, and no dual cores at all. Easy Peasy is a Linux distribution formerly known as Ubuntu Eee works within your netbooks restraints, ie it’s optimized specifically for netbooks and notebooks.

Easy Peasy is easy to install onto your hard drive or onto a USB flash drive, both installation methods have LiveCD component included enabling you the ability to test drive EasyPeasy before installing.

Once installed, you will find it boots into a customized desktop with simplified menu’s and large icons to navigate by. If the large icons don’t appeal to you, there’s another you type you can use. The user manuals or guides found on their website are very thorough, an abundance of articles for almost every issue you encounter or want to know about.

Upon completion of the install, your ready to cruise the Internet, play MP3’s, watch videos on uTube or your desktop, type out a report or jump onto skype. Most of the software applications that come with Easy Peasy are light versions specifically designed for today’s light processors commonly found on netbooks, thus giving you an addtional boost.

Some applications included with Easy Peasy are; Firefox ( my favorite browser ), Thunderbird, Open Office Suite, Pidgin, Transmission BitTorrent Client, Banshee Media Player, Picasa, Cheese Webcam Booth, and Skype, and others including open-source tools.

I had a very good experience using Easy Peasy and so did my daughter whom uses the Netbook I purchased for. She loves it!

Do you have have a netbook OS or tweaks to share? Please tell us about them in the comments.
