Generally graphics cards usually adopt dual-slot or even triple-slot cooler design. However, Galaxy Microsystems has pushed the limits of engineering recently and they unveiled the first and only GeForce GTX 260 with a single-slot air cooler.

The company did so by designing the card with Vapor Chamber heat sink technology or VC. Vapor chamber technology is nothing more than liquid being evaporated in one chamber to cool and condensed back to a liquid in another chamber to restart the cooling process over.

Not much in the way of details other than a few leaked images and some sketchy specs that have recently surfaced on the Internet, but were going to pass on what we know.

The slim and long graphics card features a 55nm GT200b GPU, 216 Processing Cores, 896MB of GDDR3 memory, a heatsink that makes use of Vapor Chamber technology, and two 6-pin PCIe power connectors.

The Galaxy GTX 260+ most likely has DVI and HDMI or DisplayPort outputs, and probably GPU, shader and memory clocks of 625, 1350 and 2000 MHz, respectively. Galaxy’s upcoming graphics card will provide its users with support for some of NVIDIA’s well-known technologies, including PhysX, SLI or CUDA-support.

The card’s price tag and release date have not been revealed.
