How to Chill Wine and Beer Fast

Chilled Wine How to Chill Wine and Beer FastGenerally, it takes about 2 hours to chill a bottle of wine or a six pack of beer in the refrigerator and roughly about and hour or so on ice alone. If it’s wine you are cooling, the freezer will help to speed things up a bit, but that’s rough treatment for delicate wines.

Here’s what you do, place the wine or beer in a bucket of ice, add some water and a large handful of salt. The salt will reduce the freezing point of the water which allows the mix to become super chilled, this takes about six minutes.

White wines and champagnes are generally served chilled. Red wines are almost always served at room temperature, unless you live in the tropics of course where one may chill the wine in the refrigerator for 0 minutes, then leave it out on the counter for 10 minutes to warm up.
