How to Find Great Deals on Electronics

great deals1 How to Find Great Deals on Electronics

No matter how well the economy is doing or how much you’re making, it would be foolish to spend unnecessary dough on electronics that are too expensive. So the question is asked how one can find a good deal on anything from laptops to cameras and those highly coveted Sony Bravia LCD screens.

There are many ways but we have decided to give you the best and easiest options for getting that killer deal you’ve been wanting.

Closeout Sales

This is a very good option. Many times electronic stores go under or decide to move to a new location, and instead of carrying all their stuff with them they sell it at discounted prices. Circuit City did this the other day before they filed chapter 11.

Generally your best bet is to check the local Sunday paper. Just remember that its not every day a store goes out of business or changes location so don’t build your hopes too high every time you grab the Sunday edition of your local newspaper.

Amazon.com

While not the best place, they have do have some pretty good deals every once in a while. And more likely then not there will be something there that might interest you. Just a few words of caution, many online retailers have strict return policies and Amazon is one of them. So it might be a good idea to read their policies before getting involved. Normally you will not be bothered if you return the item unopened, but it’s always good to be safe then sorry so make sure you read before you whip out your credit card.

DealCatcher.com

This one is quite new to me but I’m still amazed at the deals that are being offered on this site. DealCatcher.com mainly deals with offering coupon codes that will give you from minimal to substantial discounts on some big ticket items. An example is a Sony Bravia 52-inch 1080p LCD HDTV that normally goes for $2499.99. DealCatcher has it for only $1431.20.

eBay.com

This is by far my favorite destination for all things electronics, entertainment and just about anything else. No doubt you have heard about eBay before, but if you haven’t tried it before I suggest you do.

It is not uncommon to save hundreds off a factory sealed item from any of the sellers on the site. The site has saved me literally hundreds of dollars.

If you’ve heard about the scams that go on the site, I have to say it’s true. But as is the case with most deals, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. With that said, keep away from sellers with low feedback scores or those who do not have any or very little feedback history at all. Now that eBay has changed the feedback policy (sellers cannot leave negative feedback), the communication between seller and buyer has improved greatly. Just remember that although a seller cannot leave you negative feedback there are other legal actions they can take should you decide to give them hell.
