Mac users now have Steam, Includes Free Portal
Valve has now made Steam available for the Mac. To celebrate the launch, gamers on both the PC and Mac get a free gift: a copy of Portal.
Those of you interested have until May 24 to receive a PC or Mac copy of Valve’s critically acclaimed puzzle game.
Portal is a unique first-person puzzle game that Valve released in 2007. The game began its life as Narbacular Drop, a senior thesis project from a team of DigiPen students.
The Mac version of Steam will be released with 57 games, all of which use the new “Steam Play” feature — purchase one version of the game, and you can play it on both PC and Mac.
Valve said more games will be launched for Mac every Wednesday, each group themed to show off a specific feature of the Steam service.
The complete list of games being launched this Wednesday is listed below. Again, the free Portal offer is good only until May 24.
