Make a bootable USB installer for Windows with WinToFlash
Last week I had to install Windows on a few machines around here, one for my daughter and one for my son. Seems my daughter wanted to go back to XP and my son wanted a new install of Vista. So I decided to make a bootable USB flash drive in order to make this task a bit easier, which is a handy thing to do with a netbook or notebook that lack a optical drive. In as flash drive get larger in capacity I’m sure we will see the lack of optical drive more and more a common thing. When I say flash drive, some you may know this as a jump drive, thumb drive or a USB stick.
How do we do this? It’s a simple process, there’s a free utility that makes this job simple called WinToFlash. What is WinToFlash? Well it is what makes life easy in this case, basically WinToFlash is a free software utility to transfer your Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 2008, Windows 7 setup from CD or DVD to USB with a click of a mouse. Therefore you will be able to install your Windows from a flash drive, USB pen, HDD, etc to your computer or netbook, making the install easy and portable.
