Meet the new god of the laptops. The Alienware M17X
Alienware’s been teasing us with info regarding their super laptop and after reading the specs for ourselves today, we have to agree with them that this is a laptop above all lapotps. We will go into the specs in just a moment but please keep in mind that whatever we say as follow is optional and is not included in the $1799 base price. That said lets begin.
To start things off, the system is fitted with a 17-inch screen that boasts 1920 x 1200 pixels edge-to-edge LCD screen. The CPU is Intel’s Core 2 Extreme quad processor. External display options include HDMI and DisplayPort. You get FireWire and 4x 2.0 USB ports as well as 802.11n WiFi, 8-in-1 media card reader and dual-layer Blu-Ray. If that were not enough there is also an option for 512GB SSD (which of course will cost a fortune) or a 1TB HDD that carries 7100rpm. This of course can be fitted with RAID 1 or 0.
Rounding up the features is an eSATA and ExpressCard as well as GeForce 9400M G1 GPU as well as a pair of 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M GPU’s
