MSI GT640 with Core i7, claims to be ‘world’s most powerful gaming notebook’
Wow, Core i7 laptops keep coming in lately. MSI is the latest company to release a laptop with Intel’s latest generation Core i7 processor and NVIDIA’s powerful GeForce GTS 250M graphics card. Gaming laptops seem to be coming back and looks like everybody wants a piece of the action.
That’s good news to hear compared to all the economic problems the world has been facing lately Anyway, MSI is calling it the GT640 and it features: up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD, a Blu-ray burner, two megapixel webcam, HDMI, 7.1 channel audio output, an eSATA input, 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth networking interfaces.
Contoured touch-style hotkeys
The GT640 weighs in at 2.7 kilograms with battery, making it lighter than most other 15.4” gaming notebooks in the market. MSI’s latest addition uses all-new touch-sensitive hotkeys, with a housing sheathed in a glossy black finish, and no extraneous ornaments to clutter its sleek looks.
Highlighted W, A, S, D keys made for gaming
Some other features that got my attention, MSI added Highlighted W, A, S, D keys, thus making these popular keys easier to find in the heat of battle. They added a numerical keypad for users that often need to key in numbers, the keyboard is really nice.
We don’t know much more about this machine other than it has 1680 x 1050 resolution, and it comes with a two-year warranty. Whats the cost on this red-striped aluminum alloy construction and brushed metal texturing? We don’t know that either. We are expecting those announcement forthcoming in the next few days.
