Next Apple Mac Pro Features 12 Cores
It’s been a while since we’ve seen any real changes to Apple’s Mac Pro desktop range, and so a rumor regarding what components the company might include is floating around.
Hard Mac sources are reporting that the next generation Apple Mac Pro may include Intel’s new 6 core Gulftown processor, in a dual configuration which would give it a total of 12 cores, built on 32nm processes and with 12MB of shared cache.
Speculations for the next generation Mac Pro hexacore CPUs will include 8GB and 16GB RAM modules, with the option to have up to a massive 128GB of RAM, and a 10Gbit/s Ethernet port.
Some further speculations has it estimated the new Mac Pro models launching at the beginning of 2010 which would mean that Apple would have exclusivity for the new Intel Gulftown processor for a short period of time.
