NVIDIA Announces 3D Vision Gaming

3dvision1 NVIDIA Announces 3D Vision GamingWe are living in an exciting era where mind blowing gadgets are emerging on the stage that rival anything we’ve seen before, this is especially true in the area of fast graphic cards that push pixels beyond belief. Nvidia ( a world leader in visual computing technologies) is no stranger to releasing newer, faster products that put the company out on point. Today, once again NVIDIA has stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with it’s latest release of the Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision, the world’s first high definition 3D stereo solution for the home.

3D Vision combines a high-tech battery powered wireless set of glasses, a USB based high-power IR emitter and software that automatically transforms 300 PC games (without the need of a patch) into a revolutionary 3D effect as well as movies and videos without the blur that often accompanies stereoscopic setups. I don’t think there’s been a better time in my life to be a PC gamer, this represents a whole different way of experiencing PC gaming.

Of course with all new innovative products there are some drawbacks, you will need a modern dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, Windows Vista, a high end Nvidia video graphics card (at least a GeForce 8800 or higher), a 120Hz LCD monitor and of course the $199.00 dollar expense of the 3D Vision kit. Let’s back-up to the monitor, any CRT capable of 100Hz refresh rate (or higher) will suffice, as well as some 3D capable HD TV’s and projectors. As for LCD monitors, only certain 120Hz models will work, Nvidia has singled out Viewsonic and Samsung as good candidates.

Installation is straight forward, basically you will need to delete your old Nvidia drivers and install the new ones that come on the disk. Once the drivers are installed, plug in the IR emitter, put on the 3D glasses and calibrate via images provided from the installation disk.

The 3D glasses are stylish and will comfortably fit over your eye glasses if you wear them. There wireless and rechargeable via the included USB cable. Nvidia claims they will operate up to 40 hours on a charge. The glasses will shut them selves off after 10 minutes of idle time.

At $199.00 US Dollars and the cost of a suitable monitor if necessary really hurts, so this kit isn’t for everyone. However if your in the market for such an impressive  product, Game On!
