Nvidia delays 40nm Graphic Chips
The next generation of NVIDIA’s 40nm chips is now said to be delayed until sometime in the third quarter, also the rumored GT212 flagship is not likely to be seen in the markets. The GT212 was the top of the line among the three chips based on the latest compact 40nm manufacturing process, and due to some quality issues it has been delayed, which also lead the downfall in few of the parts failure in GeForce 8- and 9-series chips based on the 55nm process, which may have been triggered by cost-savings efforts, a resource shortage or a similar factor.
Even though the company’s accountants are forecasting there would be a good amount of revenue generation in the fourth quarter, also they suggest it might dip anywhere from 40 to 50 percent from the previous quarter, which would eventually look somewhere between $448 to $538 million and thus significantly lower than last year’s Q4 revenue of $1.2 billion. Due to the weak user demands there has been a low estimate and what the company is naming as inventory reductions its channel partners.
