NVIDIA Quadro Plex 2200 – Visual Supercomputers (VCS)
This multi-GPU visual computing system is by no means for the average consumer, the coolness factor alone was enough for me to post about it here. Developed by NVIDIA, this powerful machine was designed for advanced visualization of extremely large models and datasets, high end CAD and 3D applications. The Quadro Plex 2200 uses two or four state of the art NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 GPUs for an 8GB or 16GB memory capacity (frame buffer) as a out of the box solution. The 2200 is ideal for the styling and design, geosciences and scientific visualization industries, working with extremely large 3D models, datasets and power walls. Basically the 2200 gives scientists, engineers, and other highly skilled professionals visual super computing power on their desktops.

The 2200 is housed in an artistic black tower, Rackmount option kit including mounting rails and hardware are sold separately. This work horse of a computer can turn workstations and servers into visual super computers. It’s easily connected to a host workstation through a PCI Express adapter card, the NVIDIA Quadro Plex gives workstations the hugh parallel processing capabilities of multiple Quadro graphics cards.
The Quadro Plex 2200 is available with prices beginning at $10,750
