Samsung’s First Android Phone I7500 Confirmed
Samsung Electronics Co today confirmed the Samsung I7500 its first Android powered mobile phone will launch in most European countries in June this year.
The Samsung I7500 smartphone features a 3.2” AMOLED full touch display with HVGA (480 x 320) resolution and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA with 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity giving users access to Google Mobile services such as Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar, Google Talk and full web browsing at hypersonic speeds.
With the integrated GPS receiver this will give users access to Google Maps features, such as My Location, Google Latitude, Street View, local search and detailed route description. Lets not forget the hundreds of applications available in Android Market.
The slim 11.9mm thickness smartphone sports a 5-megapixel camera w/LED Flash and various multimedia codec formats, has a long battery life (1500mAh) and memory capacity up to 40GB (Internal memory: 8GB, External memory: Up to 32GB) and a 3,5mm headphone jack.
There’s no word when or if the smartphone will appear in the USA, although the 1700MHz HSPA frequency will make many T-Mobile USA customers happy to have this phone. Rumors have the phone pricing around €300 ($398 USD) which isn’t all that bad for a smartphone.
