The Alpine’s iXA-W404, Touchscreen iPhone Compatible Car Receiver
Alpine is back in the news again with it’s first touchscreen digital media receiver that allows you to integrate your iPod or iPhone. The Alpine iXA-W404 debuts with it’s 4.3 inch QVGA color touchscreen and optional add-on integrated Bluetooth connectivity so that drivers can place hands-free phone calls through the car’s sound system.
The user’s interface follows the Apple coverflow which makes it much easier for iPod/ iPhone fans to use. The iXA-W404 meets Apple Inc.’s specifications for the “Made for iPod” and “Works with iPhone” designations, you connect the iPhone, iPod or other USB memory devices via a USB input. Did I mention you can play all your iPod/iPhone videos on the iXA-W404? Guess I didn’t, anyway some other add-on features are a HD Radio with iTunes tagging, and satellite radio. Sorry there is no CD player.
The 2-DIN iXA-W404 gives you two ways to navigate and access their iPod music via the in-dash head unit: the double-encoder knob and the 4.3-inch color touch-screen monitor.You get that iPod experience with the iXA-W404 interface and search menus by dragging albums with your finger. The current playing album or song is displayed center of the screen while previous two and next two albums/songs are displayed on either side. You can cruise through your files via an alphabet bar shown on the right side of the display.
