Microsoft has added to the list of features that one can toggle on or off in the Release Candidate (RC) of Windows 7. Users are now given more control in managing the features available in the RC of Windows 7. Jack Mayo goes into detail on the Engineering Windows 7 Blog and lists the following new additions to the On and Off list. Among the new options, you will be able to turn off things such as Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, Windows Search, the XPS Viewer and several others.
The new list includes:
- Windows Media Player
- Windows Media Center
- Windows DVD Maker
- Internet Explorer 8
- Windows Search
- Handwriting Recognition (through the Tablet PC Components option)
- Windows Gadget Platform
- Fax and Scan
- XPS Viewer and Services (including the Virtual Print Driver)
In Windows 7, you can bring up the Windows Features control panel by clicking on “Turn Windows Features on or off” or just typing “Windows features” in the start menu. You can see the following in the Release Candida
