Western Digital Scorpio Blue 640GB Portable Drives Now Shipping
Western Digital via press release has just announced that it will begin to volume ship it’s newly developed 2.5″ WD Scorpio Blue 640GB hard drive. WD Scorpio Blue 2.5-inch drives offer high-performance, low power consumption, cool operation, this makes them perfect for notebooks and other portable devices.
The tiny drives pack 640GB into a single unit by way of 320GB per platter technology, making them the highest capacity 2.5-inch hard drives in the industry standard 9.5mm, 2-disk form factor yet available.
The 640GB drive reduces power consumption by up to 30% due to a leap in several new technologies installed within. Some other noteworthy features found on the WD Scorpio Blue include:
